Rule Changes
21 Aug 2019
The WPBSA has released an update to the Rules of Snooker and English Billiards.
There are a number of minor changes, but one that will have most effect on general play is where if the difference in scores was equal to the value of balls remaining on the table, a Foul and a Miss would not be called – this rule has now been deleted. It reverts to the original rule where a Miss will not be called if either player requires penalty points (i.e. "needs snookers") before or as a result of the stroke.
You can see a summary of the changes and the full rule book on the WPBSA website - https://www.wpbsa.com/governance/rules-of-snooker/
